More ways in.
More room to discover.
A shared library for people who see possibility in ordinary things—and for people who haven’t discovered that yet.
A straw should never be just a straw.
It could be a bearing, a spacer, an air passage, or the beginning of a question. This commons connects materials, tools, and projects through what they can do.
We want people to discover how to invent with what’s available to them. Not everyone has a 3D printer, a dedicated workspace, or money for new parts. Everyone deserves room to explore.
The person comes first.
Curiosity belongs to everyone. We welcome different backgrounds, abilities, ages, and kinds of knowledge. Serving people with fewer resources remains a design priority.
Starting points, not identical outcomes.
A project is an invitation. Change the materials, follow a different question, or discover that your experiment does something else entirely.
Useful mistakes belong here.
An unfinished investigation can be as valuable as a finished object. Share what happened, what surprised you, and what you would try next.
Share credit. Grow knowledge.
Build on other people’s discoveries with care. Document where an alternative works—and where it doesn’t. Cooperation matters more than competition.
Rooted in community science.
This independent project takes inspiration from the philosophy of the Global Alliance of Community Science Workshops: welcoming spaces, ordinary materials, hands-on exploration, and relationships that matter more than the finished product. It is not an official Alliance service or an endorsement.
