Record an observation, mark a cut, or trace a changing shadow.
Get to know it
A pencil can help a group remember what it saw: sketch a shape, mark a starting position, or draw a shadow outline. Record surprises as well as intended results. A blunt pencil is useful for drawing; it is not a general-purpose drilling tool.
